I still couldn't believe, the last topic in regards with the Salary Guide for European Expats in Indonesia has made positive impression among the readers. The majority of comments either on the blog or on other social media are very enthusiast to the blog. For this reason I am very thankful for the kind words, praises and criticism. I would take them all. These actually made me kept going. lol...
On the last posting, I came out with the important points to bear in mind when you have the opportunity to a job relocation to Indonesia, I bet you still remember on the salary structure, right?
well, in this posting I am disclosing about Asian Expats notably in regards with the salary guide.
ASIAN EXPATS
The movement of expats to the region is skyrocketing as Asia
Now has its shares to the Global Economy. Asian Expats are no doubt offering
their professional skill sets to multinationals chasing the
Asian Dollar. According to The HSBC survey in 2013, Indonesia was among the top
10 destinations for expats economics. This is also supported by the data from
Manpower ministry that the total expats in the same year was 64,604 in which
the largest number of those workers come from China 15, 341 people, followed by
Japan 10,183 South Korea 7,678, India 4,680, Malaysia 3,779 and United States
2,497.
IMPLEMENTATION OF SALARY GUIDE
Again, I must highlight that, in practice, every
company has their own Expats Salary Guide which may be different with these
Guidelines. Going above or below the standard, I believe so. Therefore, the
implementation on the Expats Salary Guide may reap the Pros and Cons. On the
one hand, the Expats Salary Guide can be used as a bridge to overcome the
differences in perception between the company and the tax authorities, and on
the other hand, It is also a boomerang for the company if it is found that
their expats are paid below the standard value or even no paid entirely by the
company.

that The salary Guide has become a standard reference for the company in
determining the expats salary as well as a reference for the Tax Authority that is
expected to determine the tax base if there is evidence of untruth reporting
and bookkeeping.
